 Infant Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, light touch, hands-on therapeutic technique that works to decrease restriction and tension patterns, improves mobility, and function.

Infants with tight oral tissues – lip, cheek and/or tongue ties – often experience restrictions elsewhere throughout the body. The baby may be tight throughout the neck, restricted at the base of their occiput, may have a recessed chin, difficulty with breathing, exhibit stiffness or tension throughout the body, may have torticollis, an asymmetrical face, plagiocephaly (flat spots) on the head, cranial bone overriding, and so on.

CST may not directly treat oral ties, but it can help to reduce tension, increase mobility, improve alignment, release restrictions and holding patterns, improve latch to breast/chest or bottle, increase milk transference, decrease gas, reflux, colic and encourage well-being.
Craniosacral Therapy addresses the body holistically. Like any other modality, it is not a one size fits all and can benefit greatly from having complimentary care providers working to support families and infants on their journies.

About

Heather Wamsley, LMT BCST

(she/her)

Over the last 13 years, I have dedicated myself to  birth work, herbalism, massage and craniosacral therapy.  After becoming a mother, I realized that for years I had given so much focus to pregnancy and birth, that I had unfortunately overlooked the essential care necessary during postpartum. I became a doula to help provide a more well rounded care to individuals in all 4 trimesters of their parenting journey .

I've always viewed education as a lifelong pursuit . Over the years, I have poured myself not only into studying, but also working and practicing these principles of care. When I incorporate these elements while working with others, it is with great consideration and a deeply nourished background.

It is vital to note that I am NOT a doctor or physician. So, with any supplements I may be able to suggest, it is always best to check with your physician about any herb/drug interactions or medical concerns.

For the sake of transparency, my education is as follows:

*Associates in Human Services

*Completed the Herb Pharm Internship

*1 year Ayurvedic Mentorship

*1000 hour Foundations in Ayurvedic Herbalism

*Direct Entry midwifery studies over 3 years

*Observed births at Bumi Sehat, Bali

*500 hour Elemental Yoga Teacher Training

*Home birth midwifery assistant

*1000 hours Massage training at Center for Natural Wellness

*750 hours Turtleback Biodynamic Craniosacral with Margery Chessare

*DONA Doula Training through Capital City Doula Services

*CEUs Infant Craniosacral therapy, Prenatal Massage, Postpartum Massage
